Students enrolled in the College
of Optometry may register concurrently in either the
Colleges of the Arts and Sciences
or the Graduate School.
Optometry - Arts and Sciences
Optometry students whose cumulative
point-hour ratios are 2.00 or higher may pursue a Bachelor
of Science in Vision Science degree in the Colleges of the
Arts and Sciences.
This program requires
dual registration without any modification of the degree
requirements for either college. Students must
therefore arrange their schedules to allow at least three
quarters between the award of the first degree and the
second. Students in this program may choose to work toward
their
baccalaureate degree with distinction.
Graduate School - Optometry
A student registered in the College
of Optometry, and who also wishes to enroll for graduate
study, may be registered
concurrently in the Graduate School if the student has
the proper qualifications for entrance.
A student enrolled in Graduate School - Optometry may not
count more than 15 hours of professional course work toward
the master's degree and not more than 30 quarter hours of
such work toward the Ph.D. degree. These professional courses
must be approved for graduate credit in order to be used
as credit toward a graduate degree. The College of Optometry
has an advisory committee which approves the graduate program
proposed by each candidate for admission to the dual curriculum.
