The Jeffrey and Joyce Myers Lecture Series has been established through a gift from Jeffrey Myers (OD'84)and his wife, Joyce. The purpose of this series is to sponsor one lecture per academic year, typically during autumn quarter. The guest speaker will preferably be from outside The Ohio State University with special expertise across the domains of optometry and vision science.
The inaugural Jeffrey and Joyce Myers Lecture Series took place on Wednesday, October 14th, 2009. Dr. Irvin M. Borish, considered by many to be the "architect" of optometry, gave an entertaining and intriguing one-hour lecture on the development of optometry.
