Pre-Optometry Club Minutes
3nd General Meeting: October 23th, 2007
1. Lindsay called the meeting to order and introduced Dr. Jackie Davis.
a. Doctor Flom runs The Ohio State vision clinic on High Street.
b. She discussed the idea of success. There are many outwards signs of success, but there is a lot more.
c. She proposed that success for the State Board of Optometry would be to
protect the citizens of Ohio from the few doctors who “forget the rules”.
d. Doctor Flom believes that success is found in the satifaction of your soul.
e. Question and Answer section
2. Sally announced that College of Optometry Information Session to be held Saturday October 27, 2007 from 9:00-12:00.
a. No RSVP necessary
b. There will be four sections- Admissions/Financial Aid Info, Student Panel, Faculty Insight, and Tour of the College.
3. Lindsay thanked everyone who helped in the last Schott Clean-Up and those who attended the pumpkin carving social.
4. The next Schott Clean-Up will be Sunday, November 11th. Sign up at the next meeting!
5. Dues need to be turned in as soon as possible, please!
6. Lindsay talked about the new features of our website- Check it out!
7. Beth discussed the upcoming fundraising and community service events.
a. The first Hillard Cares event is this Saturday. Rides are available
b. The Max and Erma fundraiser flyers are now here. Please pass them out to your friends, people on your floor, etc.
8. Sarah held a vote between a thanksgiving dinner and a trip to the zoo lights for the next social event.
a. The Zoo Lights trip won poll and the trip will cost approximately $5.
9. Alex wished a “Happy Birthday” to Ashley Dowles and Pete Liette.
10. Lindsay talked about the Buckeye-Thon and asked everyone to visit www.grablifegivelife.com to support the cause.
