Refraction Study on Darkly Pigmented Fundus

This is a study to see how a new instrument, the PowerRefractor, measures the prescription for glasses in subjects who are darkly pigmented at the back of the eye. Results from this study will help in the understanding of whether this new instrument may be useful in examination of infants, children and darkly pigmented fundi.

Participants will be over 18 years of age and be in good general health with no active eye disease or general health problems. The back of the subject's eye (fundus) will be rated to determine if it has enough pigmentation to qualify for the study.
The refractive error of participants in the study will measured with the new instrument and compared to the results of those from another marketed refracting instrument and from a conventional subjective examination.

More information about this study can be found in the Refraction Study on Darkly Pigmented Fundus study flyer (16 KB).

Please call Dr. Donald Mutti at (614) 247-7057 or email Nasim Nikoumanesh Snyder if you have any questions about the study or if you wish to make an appointment.
