Q&A

What brought you to the college of Optometry?

I came to the College of Optometry to expand my knowledge about the professional students in higher education. Prior to coming to the college, I worked with graduate and undergraduate students. I wanted to work with professional students to advocate and serve them in accomplishing their goals.

Describe your typical day at work or describe your position/role.

A typical day for me includes reviewing applications, advising students on the admissions process, strategizing best ways to streamline our admissions process to create a positive and efficient experience. I can also be found advising newly admitted students in their transition into our OD program.

What brings you the most joy in your work?

I enjoy meeting prospective students. I love learning about their experiences, goals, and values. I love learning “what makes them tick” and I am honored that I have the privilege of helping them reach their educational and career goals. I enjoy advocating for and encouraging students. It brings me great joy to know that I played a supporting role in helping them reach their dreams.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

I LOVE music so anywhere there’s music … I’m happy. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love to travel and learn about various cultures and try new food.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would love to charter a plane and take impoverished adolescents/young adults to explore the world and experience different countries and cultures.
