Q&A

What brought you to the college of Optometry?

My passion for this University and especially the College of Optometry. I wanted to be able to share my knowledge and experience in optometric business with the future of our profession.

Describe your typical day at work or describe your position/role.

I teach four courses in optometric business and practice management. One to first years, one to second years, and two to third years. In between lecturing, I meet with and advise students on future career opportunities and review their employment contracts.

What brings you the most joy in your work?

Seeing our students succeed in the world after graduation brings me the most joy in my work.

What advice would you give to a new employee at the college?

Embrace the culture at the College, look for opportunities to get involved, not only at the College, but across the University as a whole.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

I love to travel with my family, especially to Ireland. I also like to play golf, listen to music, root for the Buckeyes, and spend as much time as possible with my wife and kids.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

We would move to Ireland, probably the west coast, buy a house on the sea and enjoy the rest of our lives there as I develop a thick Irish accent.
