What brought you to the College of Optometry?

Patient care and service has always been at the forefront of my professional experiences, and working in the medical field has always been an interest of mine. Optometry fit into that dream in a way I didn’t initially expect, but I’ve quickly embraced the purpose it has given me for helping others see their very best.

Describe your typical day at work or describe your position/role.

As a face of the University, I am responsible for all initial contact with the clinic! From checking in to answering the phone to addressing patient concerns, I am one of a seven-strong team to assist patients, students, and attendings alike. In my daily work I schedule appointments, verify and authorize insurance, act as an intermediary between the doctors and patients, as well as checking them in and out. More recently, I have been training in our special testing department, and looking forward to the CPO certification process.
