Campus Benefits
Although we think our college community has it all, your community will extend beyond the college to The Ohio State University, the Big Ten Conference and to our worldwide alumni network.
Why Ohio State?
From our second to none recreation centers and the many diverse events and activities provided the Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB), to a wide range of intramural sports, arts and music, and our deeply entrenched traditions, you will quickly learn what it means to be a member of Buckeye Nation. It is a nation that bleeds scarlet and gray and will be by your side wherever you are in the world.
Why Columbus?
Columbus is the state capital of Ohio and the 15th largest city in the U.S. The Columbus metropolitan area has continued to steadily grow over the last several decades, with a population of just over 2 million residents. It's been ranked as one of the most intelligent cities in the world. It's also a young and vibrant city with an average age of just over 32 years old.
Ohio State and the city of Columbus have shaped and influenced one another for nearly 150 years. The campus is located near downtown Columbus, acting as a catalyst for the cultural and entrepreneurial vitality for which the city is known. You'll find urban cool next to historic neighborhoods, groundbreaking artists and technology entrepreneurs, innovative start-ups, and global enterprises.
Ready to explore Columbus? You'll find the welcome mat has been rolled out for you. As a student, you can get discounted or free tickets to events, concerts and trips.
The Ohio State campus may be beautiful, but it's just the start of the city's natural splendor. Columbus has 15 metro parks and more than 85 miles of bike and jogging trails. In fact, the Olentangy Trail runs right through campus!
