Homecoming Tailgate Connects Classmates

The College of Optometry celebrated Homecoming 2023 with lots of BuckEYE spirit!

The College of Optometry celebrated Homecoming 2023 with attendance stronger than ever and lots of BuckEYE spirit! On Friday night, the class years 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2018 gathered at locations throughout Columbus for class-specific reunions. With good weather and decades-long friendships, some alumni closed down their venues!

On Saturday, over 150 alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of Ohio State mingled and tailgated inside the Cartoon Room of the Ohio Union. A lively performance – which included a surprise serenade of Katie Greiner (OD/MS’09) – by the Men’s Glee Club entertained guests and they ended with the final song of “Hang on Sloopy.” The Class of 1998, led by Jay Henry (OD/MS’98), enjoyed free admission to the tailgate after winning the Macular Madness giving challenge in March.
