Development: Why Your Gift Matters

Here at the College of Optometry, we have funds to support everything from scholarships, to facilities, to research, to program support for our students, faculty, and staff. In fact, we have over 250 funds across the entire college, but what about all the other needs that arise from time to time? What fund supports unexpected opportunities, special projects, and other unforeseen expenses?

That is where The Ohio State Fund for Optometry comes in. This fund is incredibly vital to the overall success of the college. It is used at the discretion of the Dean and ensures that we are prepared to capitalize on new and exciting opportunities, as well as react to any emergencies that may arise. In summary, it takes care of anything that could “slip through the cracks.”
