Biographical narrative

I received my PhD degree in Physiological Optics/Vision Science in 2012 and Doctor of Optometry degree in 2013, both from the University of Houston College of Optometry. In August of 2018, I received my Master of Public Health degree with a specialization in Clinical Translations Science from The Ohio State University. My current research interests focus on studying the pathogenesis of myopia and developing strategies to prevent the onset and progression of myopia through translational research. In July of 2015, I received a 5-year K23 Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health to investigate a novel myopia control strategy by combining treatments of soft bifocal contact lenses and 0.01% atropine in children.
