Biographical narrative

I completed my undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2014. I then continued my education at Ohio State, where I graduated first in my class to obtain my Doctor of Optometry degree in May 2018. Upon graduation, I then completed a two-year Advanced Practice Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses at Ohio State, where I studied tear film changes after instillation of different over-the-counter artificial tears to earn my Master’s degree in Vision Science in 2020.

I joined the Ohio State Optometry faculty in August 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Optometry, where I serve as a clinical instructor overseeing optometry students in various clinical and laboratory settings, as well as contribute to various research projects studying contact lenses, myopia control, anterior segment ocular health, and glaucoma. I have acted as the faculty advisor to the Beta Sigma Kappa (BSK) Optometric Honor Society since my appointment to faculty, and have enjoyed working with the BSK student officers to produce and update a Pocket Reference Manual for Evidence-Based Clinical Decision Making, which is distributed to students at all of the schools and colleges of optometry in North America annually. In April 2021, I also began in a new role as the Interprofessional Education (IPE) faculty coordinator for the College of Optometry. Since my appointment, I have enjoyed the opportunity to plan and facilitate interprofessional events for optometry students and help educate optometry students on the importance of interprofessional relationships and communication in this role.
