Biography

I am a clinician-scientist with an appointment as an Associate Professor in the College of Optometry at The Ohio State University. My research focuses on the effects that repeated traumatic brain injuries have on the retina, on ocular biomechanics, and on aqueous humor dynamics. As a licensed optometrist, my clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, especially glaucoma; the fitting of specialty contact lenses; and understanding the consequences of short-wavelength light exposure on the eye and visual system. Given my research and clinical interests, I am qualified to teach VISSCI 6720, Ocular Physiology, in the first year of the optometry curriculum and to staff the College's Advanced Ocular Care and Contact Lens clinics. I also serve the College by contributing to several operational committees and by leading a SocialEyes group of first-year students. Beyond Ohio State, I have contributed to the programs of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and I currently contribute to several groups that advance the mission of the American Academy of Optometry, including the Board of Directors of its Foundation.
