Eriq: I think Ohio State has really helped me in a couple different ways. One would most definitely be, I feel like during our first two years we have a couple classes that help us figure out our leadership style, and kind of how we like to lead. And figuring that out and figuring what path that would help me go on really helped me strive into a leadership role.
One way that I think I've been a leader here at Ohio State was just being president of the only Optometry fraternity, and they help anybody who's, you know, underprivileged that actually needs a good pair of glasses, get that pair of glasses or get the testing that they need done to have proper eye care.
I feel like inclusion means to me just a sense of family and sense of, you know, no matter who you are, what you are, what you like to do, we all just kind of look out for each other, and care about each other in every way. And that's definitely something I felt being here at Ohio State, between like classrooms, faculty, and different organizations. I'm a firm believer that, you know, you can do anything that you set your mind to, and I believe Ohio State really gives you the tools to do that. You know they really want to help you succeed, give you everything that you need to succeed, and really push you to be the best you that you can be.
