Dr. Stephanie Baxter Selected to Serve on Ohio State Alumni Association Board of Directors
Stephanie Baxter (OD’08) has been selected to serve on The Ohio State University Alumni Association Board of Directors. Her four-year term will begin in September.
Dr. Baxter is an optometrist living and practicing in South Bend, Indiana. She is originally from Youngstown, Ohio and completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toledo in 2004 and her Doctor of Optometry degree at The Ohio State University in 2008. Her optometric career has encompassed full scope care including primary care of all ages, ocular disease management and specialty contact lens fittings. She currently practices at Michiana Eye Center, a large multi-location comprehensive eye clinic in Northern Indiana.
Dr. Baxter has a passion for helping her community thrive and giving back to organizations that have helped her on her career journey. She has been an active board member for The Ohio State University College of Optometry since spring 2009 and most recently the immediate past president. She enjoys working with prospective and current optometry students and also loves engaging with alumni to keep Ohio State Optometry thriving. Her passion for leadership development began after a tri-county high school leadership course and has continued through her college and adult life. She has continued taking leadership development programs post-graduation including locally with Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka. She has continued to engage in community organizations and currently is a member of the Junior League of South Bend.
Outside of work, her family includes her husband, Kevin, who is an ophthalmologist at Michiana Eye Center, their two children Griffin and Vivian, and their dog Lola. They enjoy traveling together when they have time between the kids’ hockey and dance activities. She enjoys college football, reading, and all things food.
