COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the sixth consecutive year, The Ohio State University College of Optometry has received the Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.

"Receiving the HEED Award reflects our dedication to fostering an environment where everyone can thrive,” says Professor of Clinical Optometry and Chief Diversity Officer Vondolee Delgado-Nixon, PhD. “This recognition underscores our efforts to create a community that values a wide range of perspectives and experiences."

"Educating the best and brightest future optometrists involves developing compassionate leaders," says Acting Dean Jeffrey Walline, OD, PhD. "Throughout their time here, our students learn how to provide outstanding optometric care to diverse communities and patient populations."

Ohio State Optometry proudly joins its campus health sciences peers on this esteemed list, the College of Dentistry, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Optometry, College of Pharmacy, College of Public Health and College of Veterinary Medicine.

Ohio State will be featured in the November/December 2024 issue of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine.
